Services that, according to the banks themselves, are free
Banks publish a list of basic financial services with a USD 0.00 fee. Among those they print in their fee schedules: opening and closing savings accounts, account maintenance, balance enquiries at a branch, ATM or online, withdrawals at the bank’s own ATMs, transfers within the same bank, issuing and delivering the account statement, and activating, maintaining and blocking cards. Issuing magnetic-stripe cards is also free. Check the current list in your bank’s fee schedule.
